: Luis is a very hopeful person. Ever since he found out that he was adopted, he began to think about his real family. He hoped that he might be able to meet them one day, or they'd come and find him. It easily became a habit for him to get hopeful and optimistic about a lot of things.`LUIS JAMIE ADAIR
hopeful • trusting • clumsy`APPEARANCE
He stands to about 6 feet and 3 inches tall and counting, and weighs around 150 pounds. He'd be vain in saying that he was physically fit, but he'd be humble in saying that he wasn't. He tends to run a lot when he's upset, or often goes hiking where ever he can find hills. Ever since he had gotten into working out, it stuck with him and became more of a habit than anything. He probably had a medium to large build, compared to how he had been when he was younger. His tan his skin, thanks to being outside in his previous location when he had been younger. Since he's a pretty active person, his skin hasn't differed from when he moved.
His hair is short, but curly and always tends to get in his way. It's a golden blond, hinted with the tiniest bit of brown and red. His eyes are a bright mocha color, and have small flecks of yellow surrounding the iris. His father had always told him that it was good character. His hands are always calloused due to the fact that he writes too much, and doesn't give his fingers a break.
He will often wear just a t-shirt and jeans. He sometimes wears sweatshirts when he has writer's block; it normally helps him think.`PERSONALITY
•Trusting: He had always tried to find a bright side to people. Others lectured him on not being cautious enough about this, but he never really listened. Despite the fact that he had got hurt countless times in the past for trusting someone without thinking, he still does it. He doesn't learn. Though there are certain things that he doesn't tell people. It's kind of contradicting, but Luis still sometimes keeps to himself no matter how much he trusts you. Old habits just tend to die hard.
•Clumsy: No matter how much he has changed, he will always be clumsy. When he's talking to a girl, he'll get kind of awkward and unsure, and he'll probably run into things without meaning to. It's not surprising to find that he gets kind of shy and awkward again, but he tries to talk all cool and sophisticated anyway. Even though it embarrasses him to no end, his clumsiness has a certain charm.
•Luis is that guy who tries to prove things to himself even when he doesn't need to. He's a guy who's pretty much looking for the approval of people, even though he doesn't like getting attention. No matter how mature his writing is, he always seems to be stuck in the past.

Positive Traits:
•Forgiving: It's true that people have hurt him in the past all the time. They had ridiculed him, thrown stuff at him, and even made him think once or twice on what life was about. If he met those people today, he'd probably forgive them even if they'd only be asking for forgiveness to make themselves feel less guilty. It helps him keep a healthy conscience.
•Hard-working: He got the way he was now by hard work. He failed plenty of times, sure, but he still managed. It kind of stuck with him, so now he pretty much works hard at everything that probably doesn't even need that much attention to anyway. He pays a lot of attention to everything he does. You could probably say that he's a perfectionist. [/ul]
Negative Traits:
•Closed Off: For most, protective is usually a good thing, but for those who've tried to get to know Luis' past know it's not. Out of everything, Luis is entirely too protective of his past. He doesn't let people in, doesn't talk to people about it, and is actually afraid of it. No one ever said he doesn't want to get close to someone, but he's a rather difficult person to get close to when he just doesn't let you in.
•Envious: People say that Luis has everything anyone could ever ask for, but he thinks wrong. He's basically jealous over everything that he sees, he just doesn't show it. He covers it up with a smile because he just doesn't know how to show how upset he was. After all, he had spend such a majority of his lifetime changing that part of him that he just stuck to the "happy" Luis. If people ask about his parents, he will suddenly just lash out. It's not quite his personality type, and it comes to a surprise to those who he lashed out at, but it's true. He doesn't like to talk about it. So he's incredibly jealous of those who have parents.

Most intriguing quirk(s):
•When he's standing, and is either embarrassed or bored, he will often twist his right foot from side to side as if he were trying to dig a hole into the ground. He doesn't understand why he does it, but it normally calms him down and distracts him from his own thoughts. He needs that sometimes.
•If he's in a very awkward or difficult situation, he will most likely come up with quotes or something corny to think about. Most would probably blush or something, but he comes up with "poetic" things in his head. It's kind of hard to get him out of it when he starts getting into to it. He'll probably crawl into the corners of his mind and stare off into nothing until the situation in which he got himself in is over.
Greatest Ambition:
What he really wants to do is to touch the souls of everyone with just a written word. It's probably a hard goal to reach, 'cause not everyone is accepted in the writing world, but he'll do anything to achieve it. Though, if you were to really get into a deep discussion with him over your ambitions, he'll probably change his mind and say it's to find his parents. He has never wanted anything more than to find his parents.
Greatest Fear:
His greatest fear is living alone. It's probably a desperate, common attempt, but he dreams about it. When he was little, he use to think about what would happen in the future to the point where he wouldn't be able to sleep. It would just scare him, and he hated that the day went by so fast. It's always in the back of his mind, even if he hasn't thought about it in a while.
`HISTORY
His past wasn't as dark as most, but to him he finds it quite shameful. When he was younger, he started out quite awkward. He was always too smart, too weird, and too different for the people he lived around. People found him funny and mocked him. He had always been clumsy, and destroyed a lot of things without meaning to. He got used and abused, but only because he was ignorant to others actions.
His real parents were probably the reason for that. He always kind of closed himself off and became too shy; it soon evolved into the reason why he's too smart. He had always locked himself in his room and read books for no reason in particular. He had people who took care of him - the adoptive parents - but he couldn't look at them the same when they had finally told them the truth about him being adopted. He had just been a baby they had found on a door step seventeen years ago. It so happened that his mother, Liliana, had been told she had cancer right at the time her husband told Luis that he was adopted. It was probably a bad time to do so, because Luis became very angry with Liliana and Angelo, and couldn't manage to have a conversation with either of them without arguing.
After Liliana had passed away, Luis wrote about her. His father soon found it a few months later, in the trash can, and sent it off to the school that had announced a while back that they would be having a "Free Write" contest. Luis found out he won by getting the mail after school one day, and he had been shocked and angry to find out that his father had done it without his permission. The fact that he won had just blew over his head like a gust of wind. When it was time to receive his award though, he went onto the stage pouting and frowning only to be suddenly struck with the knowledge that people were actually applauding him. The Mayor himself had even come to greet Luis in person. It made Luis feel accomplished. That was the day that Luis realized he wanted to be come a writer.
That realization also made him think about changing his life, seeing as it was no good sulking about how unfair his is. When he moved, he began to socialize more, and gained new friends. He began to workout so that his appearance wouldn't look as clumsy as he really was. It was a fresh start. He gradually lost the awkwardness (though it still follows him sometimes) that had surrounded him, and became the guy that people actually enjoyed talking to. He wasn't the geeky little kid anymore.

Best Memory: It wasn't really anything but a view, but Luis remembers it like it was yesterday and he doesn't really know why. He always had this thing where he'd name places that reminded him of a certain book he had read. There was this path in his back yard that he always went to go take a run through when he wanted to get something off his mind. It was wide, but surrounded with large trees of different shapes and sizes. It was at its most beautiful when it was in December. You'll be walking down the path, and everything is just completely white. It's like walking through some dream. Luis remembered it vividly; it didn't matter if there was no one with him, or if he was achieving some great Master plan, but the surrounding was so peaceful that it made him happy.
Worst Memory: Luis is always composed when it comes to sad events such as a funeral. He seems like the type of guy to burst out into tears, but he really isn't. He just doesn't have the time - or so he thinks he doesn't. His adoptive mother had passed away because of cancer; they all saw it coming, but it still came as a surprise. It was the first time he saw his father crying. His father had always had a hard shell since they adopted Luis, and he had always taken care of him. Not once had Luis seen the man cry until the death of his wife. It's such a trivial thing, crying is, but it scared Luis to no end. If someone that strong could break, it was obvious he could too.
Top 3 life-changing moments:
•The Funeral: Seeing his father crying like that had made Luis think about things. Yes, he was afraid that if his father had broken that easily, he could too, but it was also a chance for him to see that not everything is as it seems. Just because it isn't there, doesn't mean it's not.
•The Truth: Luis probably would still be that awkward, way too smart boy that he was when he was younger if his parents hadn't told him that he was adopted. He had just got so fed up with people lying to him, using him, that he actually scoffed when his father told him that his mother was dying of cancer. It took a few months for him to realize that he had been overreacting - that he was being immature. He had got into arguments with his father, while his mother just sat and watched. It was a little too late when Luis realized how mature he was, because by the time he began to accept the fact that he was adopted, the woman who had taken care of him since she had gotten him was too sick to even move from the house.

`FAMILY
Relationships:
Luis and his father aren't relatively close, but when Luis needs him, he's always there. It's almost as if his father's afraid to lose Luis - like he can't take losing another person he loves. Luis is okay with that, too, because he doesn't want to be alone. If his father was to pass away in the night, he'd have no one he could call a father. They pretty much lean on each other; especially when Liliana died.
•Liliana Mariah Adair [mother]:
She had always told him bed stories when he was little. She'd make him breakfast in the morning. She'd comfort him when he was sad. She'd help him out with his home work. That was pretty much how Luis remembered her, and he'd rather keep it that way. It was better to portray the thought of someone as the loving mother when you, at one point, thought otherwise.
